| WELCOME TO MAYLANDLEA GUNDOGS... |
|
The training of Maylandlea gundogs in part takes place over the course of the sporting season. Their education commences in August in the grouse butts on the wonderful Catlin Estate in Upper Weardale.
September leads to the shooting line on the wild partridge in County Durham graduating to driven birds in Northumberland. Throughout November, December and January they are encouraged to mature on the Lownethwaite Shoot coping with superb birds over the steep embankment of the River Swale and the commanding lines of Langley Shoot in County Durham - a shoot graced by Kings during the last century.
When breeding puppies we are extremely careful in the selection of stud dogs and are prepared to travel extensively to cover our bitches with recognised quality dogs. Temperament and working ability are paramount in the selection of the stud dogs covering our Maylandlea bitches.
We are not commercial breeders and only breed when requiring replacements or additions to our own working dogs. Puppies and trained gun dogs are very occasionally available for sale to approved homes. |
